I. Wisotsky, a Jewish baker of Brooklyn, has come to the aid of the unemployed in what was probably the most timely and efficacious expression of human kindness. This week he loaded a wagon with 700 loaves of bread and 600 rolls and stationed himself within the vicinity of the city’s free employment bureau where more than 1,500 discouraged, hungry men were crowding outside the building.
It did not take long for the men to realize that Mr. Wisotsky had come to their aid, and the bread and rolls were distributed in record time, almost causing a riot.
