Jewish Banker Invited by German Government to Act As Financial Advisor.

Herr Carl Joseph Melchior, the well-known German Jewish banker and economist, has been invited to-day by the German Government to act as advisor and conduct negotiations with the bankers Sprague and Wallenberg, who are now in Berlin observing the German economic situation.

Herr Melchior is one of the Directors of the Warburg Bank in Hamburg. In 1929 he was the representative of the German Government at the Reparations Conference in Paris. He was also one of the six delegates of the German Government to the Peace Conference in Versailles, and since 1926 has been the representatives of the German Permanent Finance Committee at the League of Nations.
