A number of Jewish Boy Scout troops will take part in Independence Day exercises in New York today.
At the Ocean Parkway Jewish Center playground competitive events will be the order of the day.
Those taking part include:
Scout Troop 340, Jewish Communal Center of Flatbush, Daniel L. Beyer, scoutmaster; Troop 91, Public School 179, Sidney Rosenfeld, scoutmaster; Troop 862, Public School 217, Howard Smith, scoutmaster, and Troop 59 of the Ocean Parkway Jewish Center, Harold P. Cohn, scoutmaster.
The committee in charge of arrangements includes Rabbi Jacob Bosniak, Charles Breitbart, Morris Pepper and Harry Bluestone.
The celebration also marks the official opening of the new playground, created for use of the children who have registered in the summer home camp of the center.
