Over 700 soldiers of the Jewish Brigade and Queen Mother Elizabeth were in the distinguished audience that gave an enthusiastic ovation to violinist Bronislaw Huberman at his first concert here since the liberation of Belgium.
Huberman, who is staying at the Royal Palace, lunched at Jewish Brigade headquarters, and afterwards gave an informal concert for the Brigade which, he said, gave him the “greatest satisfaction of any.” The Polish-Jewish violinist was well known in Europe before the war, and was a favorite in Vienna until the Anschluss.
