Jewish buildings survived this week’s earthquake in Athens with only minor damage, said the president of the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece. In a fax to the World Jewish Congress, Moses Constantinis wrote that the institutions, including a synagogue that will be open for Rosh Hashanah, “have only slight material damages, which according to the engineer’s evaluation should not cause any fear or worry.”
