Jewish butchers are exempt from a bill introduced in the House of Commons compelling all retail butchers to close on Sundays. The Jewish butchers are excluded from the provisions of the bill provided they are licensed by a Jewish congregation or a schechita board and if they do not conduct business from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday.
