None of the five Jewish candidates for Parliament in the general elections in Turkey on Sunday won election. Two of the Jewish candidates were nominees of the Republican People’s party. They were Sami Cohen, Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent in Turkey, and Dr. Isaac D. Taranto.
The newly established Justice party had two Jewish candidates, Leon Alauf, a businessman, and Isaac Chiprut, an attorney. The fifth Jewish candidate was attorney Eliya Bahar of the New Turkey party.
