Philadelphia police today were searching for a gang which overturned 33 tombstones in the Mikveh-Israel Beth-el-Emeth Cemetery here, apparently after having had a beer party on the cemetery grounds.
The burial ground is more than 150 years old and some of the overturned stones date back at least 75 years. Ten of the stones were cracked or broken when they were pulled from their foundations.
