63 Jewish graves were desecrated last night at Sochaczew, near Warsaw, and 26 tombstones were smashed.
Earlier in the day, a group of National Democratic students arrived in the town from Warsaw and attempted to hold an anti-Jewish demonstration. The police dispersed them, however, and made it impossible for them to start any anti-Jewish agitation in the town. It is believed that some of the thwarted antisemitic students then made their way to the Jewish cemetery, and committed the outrage as an act of revenge. The police have not been able to trace the vandals.
