Jewish Community Center athletes, including many who starred in National Jewish Welfare Board inter-Center tournaments, constitute nearly half of the American team in the fifth World Maccabiah Games which gets under way in Tel Aviv September 15. There are 47 athletes from 23 different centers representing the United States. The American team is sponsored by the U.S. Committee for Sports in Israel, whose chairman, Col. Harry D. Henshel, is also chairman of JWB’s Armed Services Division and vice chairman of JWB’s National Health and Physical Education Committee.
