A Jewish center with classrooms for religious instruction, meeting and play rooms for youth groups, an auditorium for lectures and social events was dedicated here in a new wing built next door to Frankfurt Jewish Community headquarters. Prof. Franz Boehm formally endowed one school room with the award money of the Stephen Wise $1,000 prize received from the American Jewish Congress last spring.

In recognition of his gesture, Prof. Boehm’s name is inscribed on a bronze plaque on the schoolroom wall. A German Protestant, Prof. Boehm is the former head of the German delegation at The Hague which reached the reparations agreement with Israel, and is an indefatigable champion of indemnification of Nazi victims.
