Jewish children in Algeria will no longer be required to attend public school classes on Saturdays and Jewish religious holidays, the French Ministry of Education has decreed. The regulation provides that if an examination falls on a Saturday or a religious holiday, Jewish children may be excused and request a makeup examination.

Three new Jewish cultural centers will be opened in Algiers before the end of the year, it was reported here today. The renewed cultural campaign will result also in the establishment of a Jewish library for books, films and recordings in French, and Hebrew and a book exhibit on Jewish subjects which will tour Oran, Constant in and Algiers.
