A Jewish choir performed in an Anglican church here today to help wipe out the church’s debt of three thousand pounds for renovations. The Zemel choir, which volunteered to perform, was served special kosher food by the villagers. The church altar was covered to spare embarrassment to the 100 youths.
“No law is being broken by covering the altar furnishings,” said a spokesman for the Archbishop of Canterbury. We are members of the Council of Jews and Christians and the visit should help improve relations between the two churches.”
