Municipal authorities and representatives of Catholic and Protestant churches today attended rededication ceremonies for the Jewish cemetery at Opladen. Destroyed during the Nazi regime, the cemetery was officially handed over to the Duesseldorf Jewish community, whose jurisdiction extends to Opladen. Speakers at the ceremonies vowed to prevent a recurrence of Nazi barbarism and to maintain democracy in Germany.
