The Committee for Jewish Claims on Austria in a letter sent on its behalf today by A.L Easterman, thanked the British Government for its help in the negotiation of the agreement with Austria. However, it noted that the Committee hopes London will continue to do what it can to insure that Austria enacts legislation necessary to implement the agreement on Jewish claims.
The letter, to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anthony Nutting, declared that British diplomatic representatives had “contributed substantially to the satisfactory results obtained.” But, added Mr. Easterman, “we hope we may be able to count on the good offices of Her Majesty’s Government to do what lies in their power to ensure that the agreement will be fully implemented by the enactment of necessary legislation.”
