A “notable” increase in the number of settlements last year was reported here today by the Jewish Colonization Association on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Moisesville colony in Argentina.
The Association said that at the end of 1948 there were 3,360 colonists at Moisesville, of whom 2,600 owned land. The colonists position this year has been satisfactory, the Association added, despite the low prices paid by the Argentine Government for agricultural produce.
