“Enlightenment teams” have been established by the Communist controlled Jewish Democratic Committees in Rumania to “improve the quality of enlightenment work among honest Jews,” the Rumanian newspaper “Viata Noua” reaching here today, reports.
One of the chief aims of these teams, the newspaper reveals, is to persuade Rumanian Jews, who have registered for emigration to Israel, to withdraw their applications. The paper reports that propagandist Timisoara “persuaded 31 fellow workers at the electric motor factory to forego emigrating, while another propagandist in Oradea succeeded in rescuing a number of workers, at the Cordex plant, from the web of Zionist lies.”
The newspaper further says that “every committee must make it a point of honor to know how to persuade the vast majority of those who are still under the influence of Zionist propaganda renounce their departure to Israel.” It praises a Bucharest enlightenment team for its “strong combative spirit in unmasking a Zionist agent, Izu Segal.” It praises another team in Oradea for its combative spirit in “unmasking the criminal propaganda of a group of Zionist who shamelessly tried to prevent a number of enlightenment teams from doing their work.”
