Twenty Jewish communities of Eastern and Western Europe will participate in a Conference of European Jewish Communities to be held here Jan. 13-16. The conference is being convened by the World Jewish Congress. The Board of Deputies of British Jews will represent the host community. Dr. S. J. Roth, executive director of the European division of the WJC said the aim of the conference was to secure greater cooperation among Jewish communities in Europe at various levels.
Dr. Roth said the conference was motivated by the present political climate of integration that prevails in Europe. He said that as a result. “Issues of direct concern to Jews may emerge and European Jewry may wish to express a common attitude to such policies.”
