The Union of Italian Jewish Communities has laid a complaint before the Italian authorities against the recently produced film “The Way to Freedom,” because one of the characters in the movie ridicules the memory of an Italian Jew deported to his death by the Nazis. The Jews are demanding that the offending scene be cut.
Meanwhile, the Union has also announced a contest for Italian Jewish writers. The writers were asked to produce a work in the Italian language dealing with the Warsaw Ghetto.
