The Union of Italian Jewish Communities issued a statement here today thanking the Italian people for supporting Israel “at a time when her existence was threatened.”
The statement also declared that Italian Jewry hopes such solidarity with Israel would continue “until a just and durable peace is achieved, since such a peace alone could guarantee a free life to democratic Israel in harmonious coexistence with all nations.”
