The Union of Jewish Communities today appealed to the public prosecutor to punish the editor of “Ardealul,” a publication recently suspended for 15 days for spreading anti-Jewish propaganda.

Declaring that it was not surprised at the “Ardealul” spreading anti-Semitic propaganda, the “Mantuirea,” organ of the Jewish Party, pointed out that Rumania is the only country where war criminals, who confessed to murdering thousands of Jews, have not been executed.

Services were held today in memory of the Jewish victims who died in an Iron Guard pogrom on Jan. 21, 1941. After the services, conducted by the Chief Rabbi of Rumania, a Soviet officer spoke on behalf of the Allied commission and Minister of Propaganda Petre Constantineson spoke for the Rumanian Government.
