The members of the Jewish Conference of Social Service are being urged to mobilize public opinion and support in their communities for measures for Federal aid to the unemployed, now pending in Congress, as well as for unemployment insurance bills which have been submitted to a large number of State Legislatures now in session by the Committee on Social Policy of the conference.
This committee was appointed two years ago at the Minneapolis conference to use the influence of the conference in behalf of social legislation. The Committee is headed by Dr. Ben M. Selekman, of Boston, Chairman; and includes the following: Dr. Jacob Billikopf, Philadelphia; Benjamin Glassberg, Milwaukee; Samuel A. Goldsmith, Chicago; H. Joseph Hyman, Indianapolis; Hyman Kaplan, San Francisco; Mrs. I. A. Liveright, Harrisburg; Dr. Solomon Lowenstein, New York; H. L. Lurie, New York; Kurt Peiser, Detroit; Dr. I. M. Rubinow, Cincinnati; Morris D. Waldman, New York.
