Jewish Community Leaders in Czechoslovakia Pesent “supervision” of Pro-communist Bodies

Jewish circles here today expressed dissatisfaction ?h the fact that self-appointed Jewish Action Committees have teen set up to control activities of the Jewish communities throughout the country.

The chairman and vice-chairman of the Jewish Action Committee formed within Prague Jewish Community Council are both Communists. No Zionist or Orthodox Jews, Jews from Sub-Carpathia, are participating in the Action Committees, which were ##med as a result of the political change in the Czechoslovak Government. Their ###sion is to watch the work of the Jewish Community Councils and subsidiary Jewish ##titutions.In describing the Action Committees as “unnecessary”, Jewish leaders here ##nt out that the Jewish communities need not he put under any special supervision ##ce their leadership does not include any reactionary elements.
