The Association of Jewish Community Relations. Workers, at its fifth annual meeting, voted today to affiliate with the National Conference of Jewish Communal Service. Dr. Walter A. Lurie of New York was unanimously elected president of the Association, succeeding Dr. S. Andhil Fineberg of New York, who had served for three successive terms.
The decision to affiliate with the conference was taken at the conclusion of a session on relationships between Jewish community relations work and other fields of Jewish communal service. A proposed draft of a statement on professional standards was adopted as a working paper and the committee that prepared it was instructed to present a revised draft to the next annual meeting.
