The pro-Nazi Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet today publishes a report from Norway disclosing that the mass-arrests of Jews there are being conducted at such a rate that the “Jewish internment camp” near Bredtvedt is already overcrowded, and a second concentration camp for Jews is now being set up near Toensberg.
The pro-Nazi paper admits that the Jews are being treated “very brutally” when taken from their homes to be transported for internment. The Quisling police strip all the jewelry from the wives and daughters of the arrested Jews, and every article of value in the ransacked Jewish homes is stolen by the officials conducting the search, the Aftonbladet writes.
The paper believes that the majority of the arrested Norwegian Jews will be deported to remote sections of Northern Norway for forced labor, but other reports reaching here from Norway reveal that some of the interned Jews are already being sent to Nazi-held territory in the East. Among the Norwegian Jews held in the camp near Bredtvedt are a number of rabbis, including the Chief Rabbi of Oslo, the pro-Nazi paper reports.
