Jewish Conference Planned to Discuss Plans for Tercentenary

A conference of several hundred people, representing every aspect of Jewish life in every part of the country, will be convoked here for the purpose of discussing plans for the tercentenary celebration of Jewish settlement in the United States, it was announced today by Ralph E. Samuel, chairman of the committee which is organizing the celebration. The organizing committee will be expanded within a month.

“We want every group in Jewish life in every part of the United States to participate in this celebration,” Mr. Samuel stated. “This is an occasion for demonstrating to the world once more the tremendous potential of democracy, as symbolized in this land where people of every faith, race and origin, work together in the service of humanity’s highest ideals.”
