The American Jewish Congress will appeal to the United States Circuit Court of Appeals the case of two Jewish youths from Rumania who entered this country as stowaways and have been ordered deported by the immigration authorities.
The petition to secure the release of Jehuda Rubenfeld and Ghidu Davidescu was denied last week by a lower Federal court. Pointing out that the youths’ present imprisonment follows upon the heels of four years in Nazi concentration camps, the Congress announced that it will attempt to secure their release on bail pending the appeal.
