The American Jewish Congress which is to reconvene on October 14 will be held in New York City, according to an announcement just made.
This is a change from the previous arrangements which was made necessary by the request from Mr. Israel Zangwill, who is to address the opening session of the Congress, that the sessions be held in New York instead of Boston. As this is to be the only address which Mr. Zangwill will deliver during his trip to the United States, the Administrative Committee of the Congress decided to adopt his suggestion that “The greatest Jewish population the world has ever seen in one city is the right setting for a Jewish Congress.”
The Administrative Committee has proceeded to make all arrangements for the Congress which, for the first time in its history. Will have its delegates assemble in New York City. The sessions will be opened on the afternoon of Sunday, October 14 at the Hotel Commodore. The demonstration for Jewish rights, which will be addressed by Mr. Zangwill, will be held in the evening in Carnegie Hall. Mr. Zangwill has already booked passage on the LA FRANCE, and is scheduled to arrive here several days before the opening of the Congress.
