Reorganization of the executive committee of the Jewish National Council was decided upon today following long negotiations. The new committee will comprise ll members, including President Pinchas Rutenberg and Chairman Isaac Ben Zvi, instead of 18 as formerly. Rutenberg is empowered to appoint members to the committee in accordance with party representation.
Members of the Zionist General Council residing in Palestine met in an all-day session under the chairmanship of Isaac Gruenbaum and heard a report on the political situation by Moshe Shertok, political chief of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, on the economic position by Arthur Ruppin and on organizational problems by Gruenbaum.
