Jewish day schools are suffering because of the economic downturn in the United States, a new study found. In a survey of 88 Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and community day schools representing one-third of all students enrolled nationally, 53 of the schools reported feeling a “considerable” economic impact from the downturn, while 31 said they are experiencing “minor” fallout.
