A request for a grant by Quebec Province for expansion of Maimonides Hospital and Home for the Aged was made by a delegation of hospital officials at a meeting here with Daniel Johnson, Prime Minister of Quebec. The Prime Minister was favorably impressed by the presentation for the request, to help finance an additional three floors with 21 beds, and promised the Jewish leaders he would discuss their request with the Provincial Health Ministry.
The delegation was led by Samuel Moskovitch, hospital president, and Jacob M. Lowy, president of the Allied Jewish Community Services of which the hospital is a constituent agency. Other members of the delegation were M. Lewitt of the AJCS, Phil Cohen, hospital vice president, and Lou Novick, the hospital executive director. The size of the requested grant was not disclosed.
