Jewish Eagle, Daily Newspaper in Canada, Celebrates Its 50th Anniversary

The Jewish Daily Eagle, oldest Jewish daily newspaper in Canada, celebrated its 50th anniversary with the publication of a jubilee edition of 212 pages in Yiddish, English and French. Israel Rabinowitch. distinguished publicist and an musicologist, is editor of the paper. Max Wolofsky is publisher.

Established fifty years ago by Hersch Wolofsky. late father of the present publisher, the Jewish Daily Eagle has played an important role in stimulating Jewish communal activities in Montreal. It has aided the development of Jewish institutions and has had many important Jewish writers on its staff. The jubilee edition carries numerous articles reflecting the growth of the Jewish community in Montreal during the last half century.
