Twelve American Jewish soldiers attached to units in the Munich area left here yesterday on an eleven-day training proficiency flight to Israel and other countries. They will spend seven days in Israel.
The flight, in an Air Force plane, was sponsored by the Jewish chaplain for the Munich area, Maj. Oscar M. Lifshutz. Rabbi Lifshutz served as liaison officer for the United States forces when the remains of Theodor Herzl were transferred to Israel from Austria in 1949.
