Jewish groups are supporting a Senate bill that would increase coordination between federal and state law enforcement against hate crimes. The Local Law Enforcement Enhancement Act is sponsored in the Senate by Sens. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) and has the support of the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs and the Religious Action Center for Reform Judaism.
