The Federation of Algerian Jewish Communities and the Algerian Jewish Committee of Social Studies issued a joint statement today calling on Algerian Jews to be “wary” of provocation in the current situation in the country.
The two organizations averred their attachment to the “ideal of brotherhood of all ethnic groups living together in this country.” They noted that would not intervene in political matters, because these should be left to individual conscience, but suggested that all Jews “be wary at all times of any provocation no matter from where it comes.”
