The British Jewish organizations represented in the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany today asked that the distribution of funds available to the Claims Conference from German reparations payments to European Jewish groups should be made from a center established in London rather than New York. The request will be put to the executive and the Board of Directors of the Claims Conference when they meet in New York next Monday.
A decision to this effect was adopted at a meeting of delegates from Anglo-Jewish organizations to the Claims Conference. The meeting was called by Barnett Janner to work out a joint approach of the Anglo-Jewish groups. Represented at the meeting were: “Board of Deputies of British Jews; Anglo-Jewish Association; Jewish Trust Corporation; Central British Fund; and the European section of the Agudas Israel World Organization.
