Representatives of ten national Jewish organizations are now forming a permanent council to promote the Hebrew language and Hebrew cultural activities in the U.S., Samuel J. Borowsky, president of the Histadruth Ivrith, announced here today. He also disclosed that the organization’s current budget’s approximately $350,000.
The organization’s projects at present include sponsorship of free Hebrew courses for adults, translation of literary classics, maintenance of two summer camps where Hebrew is used almost exclusively, publication of the Hebrew weekly, “Hadoar,” and organization of a Hebrew children’s theatre.
