Jewish groups are participating in the all-American observance of National Family Week, May 6-13, according to an announcement by Habbi Herbert S. Coldstein, President of the Synagogue Council of America.
National Family Week has been sponsored by the Federal Council of Churches of Christ in America, the National Catholic Welfare Conference and the Synagogue Council of America as a means of drawing attention to wartime problems of the family, child welfare, juvenile delinquency and in order to safeguard the spiritual values of family life during the period of the readjustment of the returning servicemen. The National Family Committee, representing the three fiaths, consists of Rev. Harry C. (##)ro of the Inter-Council Committee on Christian Family Life, the Rev. Edgar Schmiedaler of the Catholic Conference on Family Life and Rabbi Ahron Opher of the Synagogue Council of America.
