Jewish organizations joined today in the observance of Flag Day.
Ivriah, the women’s division of the Jewish Education Association, sponsored a rally at the World’s Fair Temple of Religion. Scheduled speakers included Stanley Howe, representing Mayor LaGuardia; Grover Whalen, John G. Brunini, Rabbi Hyman Schachtel and others.
The Jewish War Veterans of the United States was active in various observances. The organization sponsored a full-page advertisement in newspapers throughout the country stressing religious liberty and the Jews’ wartime contributions to America. The J.W.V. also arranged a ceremony in New York’s Central Park Mall tonight, addressed by speakers who included ministers of three faiths.
