Jewish institutions throughout Brazil were warned today by the Brazilian Confederation of Jewish Communities to keep close watch over their buildings and other facilities, particularly during the period beginning next Monday when the judgment in the trial of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann will be read in Jerusalem.
The warning was issued following incidents in two provincial towns, Curitiba and Porto Allegre, in which tombstones in Jewish cemeteries were broken and desecrated with Nazi emblems.
