A two-day annual assembly of the executive committee of the Jewish Labor Committee concluded here last night after reviewing the activities of the organization for the last ten months and charting a course of action for future work both in the United States and abroad.
Adolph Held, president of the Jewish Labor Committee, revealed today that the conference spent considerable time discussing the controversial MacIver Report on the activities of Jewish groups engaged in combating and Semitism. The assembly also discussed the problem to German reparation of Jews for property looted and destroyed by the Nazis.
The activities of William Green, president of the American Federation of Labor, in fighting bigotry were lauded here yesterday by Vice President Alben W. Barkley and Secretary of Labor Maurice J. Tobin at a meeting arranged by the Jewish Labor Committee in Mr. Green’s honor. More than 2,000 labor union delegates attended the gathering at which a bronze bust of Mr. Green was unveiled. The bust, a gift of the J.L.C., will be placed in the A.F.L. building in Washington.
