The question of guarding synagogues here against attack was discussed here yesterday at the monthly meeting of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. Frank Renton, vice-chairman of the organization’s defense committee, reported on the plans to counter the present attacks on synagogues and other Jewish communal property.
He reported the Board has been working in this field closely with the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen and Women, and has the full cooperation of all major synagogue bodies. He strongly advised synagogue managements to “steer clear of calling in unauthorized persons or groups” for protection of their buildings.
