Jewish leaders discussed the Patriot Act and other issues in a meeting with U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. During Wednesday’s meeting, several Jewish groups praised the legislation, which enhances law enforcement’s counterterrorism tools, while others raised concerns about the right to privacy, sources told JTA. Gonzales, who became attorney general in February, listed privacy safeguards in the bill, which is up for debate again in Congress.
