A delegation of Jewish leaders today visited Dr. Eugenio Reale, Italian Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, and dischased the situation of Italian and European refugees with him. The group consisted of The Refaelo Cantoal, chairman of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Italy, The Umberto Nachos, Jewish Agency representative here, and Jacob Garfunkel, chairman of the Organization of Jewish Refugees in Italy.
The Jews expressed gratitude for assistance rendered Jewish refugees and DP’s by the Italian Government and people. During the conversation Dr. R## expressed the opinion that the only solution for the Jewish people lay in Palestine. He termed the Jews “intelligent and courageous fighters for democracy.” Dr. R## who was formerly the Italian Ambassador to Poland, witnessed the Kisles pogrom.
