Story scenes which occurred in the Hungarian Parliament last week, during which insulting remarks were hurled at the Jewish member of the House by the anti-Semitic deputy will find their conclusion, after the media eval fashion, in a duel. The Jewish deputy, Bela Fabian, formerly District Court Judge of Budapest has challenged Deputy Ulain, who recently came into the limelight again, as defnese attorney for the bomb conspirators of Scongrad.
Deputy Ulain, one of the leaders of the anti-Semitic organization known as the Awakening Magyars, appeared in the District Court of Szolnok as counsel for defense of nine members of the Awakneing Magyars who, on December 26, 1923, threw a bomb into a hall in Scongrad where a Jewish charity call was being held. The acquittal of the conspirators by the Szolnok court created great excitement in Hungary, caused the resignation of two members of the Cabinet and was one of the first matters to be taken up by the new session of the Hungarian Parliament. During the session Ulain insulted Fabian, resulting in the removal of the former from the House.
