The Jewish National Fund today issued a call to its supporters throughout the world to support the project of reclaiming the Huleh swamps and “provide the means to bring this plan to fruition to the advancement of Israel and to the weal of mankind.”
The appeal, referring to the stoppage of work on the project ordered by the United Nations Security Council pending agreement for its resumption, declared that the “great humanitarian idea of freeing an important area from waste will not be stifled. The issue of ploughshares versus swords will, in the and, decide in favor of civilization and progress.”
