An international conference on anti-Semitism opened in Seelisberg, on Lake Lucerne, with representatives of Jewish and non-Jewish groups from various countries attending.
Prof. Selig Brodetsky, who is representing the Board of Deputies of British Jews, said today that British Jewry is “shocked beyond measure” at the hanging of the two British soldiers in Palestine by the Irgun. This act, he said, would be “condemned by all who hold dear the good name and cause of the Jewish people and of Palestine.”
Rabbi Fabian Herskovits of the Central Synagogue in Budapest arrived here as a delegate of Hungarian Jewry. Two representatives of non-Jewish groups in Hungary were also invited to attend the parley, but they were unable to come.
