Jewish officers in the French Army in North Africa have had all their rights restored since the landing of American forces and are now actively participating in the organization of the French army under the command of General Giraud, it was reliably reported here today from Algiers.

The report also stated that the French civil administration in North Africa has set up a special commission to restore to Jewish owners property which was “Aryanized” under the Vichy anti-Jewish laws. The restoration of this property is being carried out through hearings of individual cases by the commission.

All Jewish children who were ousted from the schools under the Vichy regulations have been readmitted, the report declared. Jewish teachers are being reappointed to the jobs from which they were dismissed. The economic restrictions against the Jews have all been lifted, the report also said.
