Canadian Jewish organizations interested in immigration have submitted a memorandum to Mrs. Ellen A. Fairclough, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, outlining proposals for action to assist prospective immigrants from Poland and Hungary and Egyptian refugees, it was announced here today by the Canadian Jewish Congress.
The efforts of the Canadian Jewish Congress and the Jewish Immigrant Aid Society in behalf of increased immigration possibilities in Canada promise to open more opportunities in the second half of 1958, the United Hias Service declared in a report issued here. In the first half of 1958, United Hias said, 1, 146 Jews entered Canada from a number of countries.
