The Jewish world conference, which has been called by the Committee of Jewish Delegations, and which will open its sittings here on August 20, will deal with the problem of the Jews in Germany; the Jewish position in various countries; defense of Jewish minority rights, and proposed measures for combating anti-Semitism, it was announced here.
The provisional agenda of the conference, which was made public includes consideration of:
1. The position of the Jews in the various countries of the world. A political report by Dr. Nahum Goldmann and an economic and social report by Dr. Jacob Lest-schinsky, will be given.
2. The position of the Jews in Germany.
3. Measures of organized defense in the political, moral and religious spheres and in the economic field.
In connection with these points the conference will deal with special questions, such as Jewish minority rights in the Saar area in view of the approaching plebiscite, and prospective negotiations with the Soviet government on problems affecting the position of the Jews in the Soviet Union.
4. Defense of Jewish minority rights within the limits of the League of Nations in connection with the resolution of the Polish government for generalizing minority obligations, which is coming up at the September meeting of the League of Nations.
5. Measures for combating anti-Semitic propaganda.
